Leland K. “Wimp” Stanford age 75 of North Lawrence died Thursday evening at his residence. Born on July 16, 1932 in North Lawrence to the late Russell and Ruth (First) Stanford. He was a 1950 Washington High Graduate and a United States Korean Conflict Army Veteran. He retired from Gaspar – Babcox – Wilcox as a foreman. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and shooting. Leland was a member of North Lawrence Fish & Game Club, Sons of Herman, NRA, Harley Owners Group and the American Legion. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Ann Marie Stanford who passed away January 15, 1998. He is survived by his daughters and son-in-law, Janet L. McCollum of Massillon, Nancy A. (Carlo) Jobsz of California, Kristie L. Kemp of Massillon and Susan J. Stanford of North Lawrence; special companion, Pam Melhorn of Dalton, brother dale Stanford of Uniontown and three grandchildren. Funeral services celebrating Leland’s life will be Monday at 11:30 AM at the Arnold – Lynch Funeral Home in Massillon with Rev. Edd Matako officiating. Calling hours will be Sunday 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM and one hour prior to the services on Monday. Interment will take place at Newman Creek Cemetery.
