Leland H. Prentice

Leland H. Prentice, 71 of Jackson Township, passed away on December 3, 2015. He was born in Elyria, Ohio on July 2, 1944 and was the son of Anne (Malick) Prentice and the late Leland H. Prentice, Sr. He was a 1962 graduate of Midview High School in Grafton, OH and 1967 graduate of Kent State University. He worked for 36 years in industrial sales for Sun Refining and Marketing. At one time Leland was a member and officer of the Canal Fulton Jaycees and the American Association of Lubrication Engineers. For decades, he held season tickets for Kent State basketball and football. He was a member of the Hall of Fame Health Club and enjoyed the camaraderie there. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Rita (Hodovan) Prentice, his sons, Mark Prentice and Jeff Prentice, his mother Anne Prentice, his sister Kathy Matheson and his nephews, Kevin Matheson and Greg (Erin) Matheson. In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place and there are no public calling hours or services. Memorial contributions in his name may be made to Washington Avenue Christian Church, 301 Washington Avenue, Elyria, OH 44035.
