Leland E. "Lee" Echelberry

Leland E. “Lee” Echelberry, 75, of Massillon, passed away on Wednesday, December 08, 2021. Lee was born on June 18, 1946, in New Philadelphia, OH the son of the late Everett Lee and Edna Jane (Henderson) Echelberry. Lee was a proud United States Navy veteran. Lee was a Massillon City police officer and retired after 25 years of service. He was a member of the Caldwell Lodge F. & A.M. #330 in Bolivar, and Bolivar OES #368. and Henderson Lodge F.O.P. #105. Lee enjoyed fishing, playing Euchre, and spent a lot of time researching his family tree. He was an avid Ohio State, Browns, and Massillon Tigers fan. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Jeannette, Betty, Harold, Alvin, and Kenny. He is survived by his loving wife, Linda (Robinson) Echelberry whom he shared 19 years of marriage; children, Heather (Thomas) Maddern, Kiera (Keith Bouscher) Shanklin, Kenneth (Theresa) Echelberry, and Gregory Echelberry; grandchildren, Sierra, Julieanna, Justin, Korey, Ryley, and 4 other grandchildren; great-grandson, Zachary Jr.; sister, Doris Gump; and brothers, Ronnie Echelberry and Perry (Cherokee) Eckelberry. A Celebration of Lee’s life will be held on Monday, December 13, 2021, at 7 p.m. at the Paquelet Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 5-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family to help cover expenses.
