Leland E. Britton, 95, of North Lawrence, finished his earthly journey on October 28, 2022, and joined his wife in heaven. They are now “TOGETHER FOREVER”.
Leland was born is Berea, WV and grew up in Pullman WV. He graduated from Pullman High School and headed up Route 21 to Massillon, Ohio. There he became a steelworker at the Euduro Stainless Plant. At the Enduro, he was a pickler helper on an annealing furnace. Through many owners, he ended his career with 43 years of service in 1992.
In Massillon, Leland found and married the love of his life, Wanda in 1950. They shared 67 years of marriage together before her passing in 2017. Leland and Wanda raised three sons in North Lawrence, Ohio.
He is survived by his sons and families, Darrell (Judy), Dennis and fiancé Nancy Curtiss, Larry, granddaughter Sarah (Shane) Lind, and great granddaughter Payton Lind.
Leland was preceded in death by his loving wife Wanda, parents Harvey and Carrie Britton, and brother Howard Britton.
Leland is a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Massillon, Ohio. He and Wanda were two of the ring leaders of the HTLC Golden Agers Group and enjoyed traveling NE Ohio sightseeing and enjoying meals together.
A graveside service will be held at Brookfield Cemetery on Thursday, November 3rd at 11 a.m. with Pastor Katie Jacob officiating.
In lieu of flower, the family asks for donations to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.
