Laverne “Larry” M. Kandle, age 90, passed away on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at Altercare of Navarre. Larry was born on September 6, 1926 in Massillon, Ohio to Herman and Minnie (Weckesser) Kandle. He proudly served in the United States Navy during WWII. Larry married Geraldine Null and they shared 32 loving years together. Larry worked at the Ford Motor Company and retired as the maintenance superintendent after 40 years of service. After his career at Ford, Larry was self-employed for 15 years. He was a member of the Clinton Lodge #47 F & A.M., the Al Koran Shriners and also a member of the 32nd Degree Scottish Rite. In his spare time, Larry enjoyed being outdoors whether he was golfing, camping or fishing. He will be deeply missed by his wife, Geraldine; Children, Tim (Vicky) Kandle, Lane (Debbie) Willhite, Christi (Ken) Vesely, Kelly Douglas, Tony Johnson, Chris (Connie) Johnson, Kim Ream, Stephanie Williams and Susan (Keith) Allman; grandchildren, Lee Anne (Kurt) Yancey, Brenda (Jeff) Rea, Jerry Willhite, Jodene (Don) Davis, Jill Willhite, Nick (Julie) Vesely, Daniel (Gillian) Douglas, Bethany (Lucas) Gray, Dillon (Meredith) Douglas, Tony Jr. (Sarah) Johnson, Matt Johnson, Jana (Brandon) Cooper, Christina Johnson, Trisha (Fiancé Todd) Johnson, Michael Ream, Griffin Allman and Kelsey Allman; 23 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild; brothers, William (Judy) Kandle, Robert (Myrna) Kandle; sister, Joanne Pfaus and daughter-in-law Connie Willhite. In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his children Alta Willhite and Jerry Willhite, sister Martha Kandle, brothers Donald Kandle and Dale Kandle, grandson Shawn Willhite and son-in-law Mike Ream. The family will receive friends on Monday, April 17, 2017 from 5-8 p.m. at the Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home in Massillon. A celebration of Larry’s Life will be held on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at 10 am at the funeral home with Fr. Brian Cline officiating. Burial will take place following the service at Brookfield Cemetery where military rites will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mercy Hospice, 7568 Whipple Ave. NW, North Canton, OH 44720.
