Laverna Mae Cowan

Laverna Mae Cowan, 95, passed away on Tuesday, April 26, 2016. She was born in Harrisville, WV on May 13, 1920 to the late Romeo M. and Ruby (Elder) Calhoun. Laverna , a faithful women dedicated her life to God and the care and love of her family. She was a member of Community of Christ Church. She is survived by her children, Gloria (Darrell) Heckathorn of Canton and David Cowan of Massillon; four grandchildren, Mike, John(Denise), Denise and David, Jr.(Kari); and seven great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Joe, Stephen, Jacob, Alyssa, Chase and Sydney. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Cowan; three sisters, Lucille, Roberta and Irene; and two brothers, James and Junior. A private inurnment will take place in Harrisville, WV at I.O.O.F. Cemetery at a later date.
