Laura G. Mottice

Laura G. Mottice, 90, passed away on March 28, 2021. She was born in Canton on September 25, 1930 to the late Phillip and Barbara (Koury) George. Laura will always be known as someone who loved Perry Schools. She spent her career, first as a teacher, then the reading coordinator and finally as a principal at Lohr and Reedurban. Following her retirement she went on to serve on the Board of Education. Surviving are her daughters, Deborah Weaver and Laureen Shaffer. She also leaves her grandchildren Megan (Eugene) Starr, Aaron Shaffer, Matt (Lindsey) Shaffer and great-grandchildren Adelynn Starr, Ellis and Easton Shaffer. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Charles and eight brothers and sisters. In lieu of flowers family is requesting contributions sent to 5326 Ashby St Nw, Canton , Ohio 44708 for tree’s to be planted in her memory. A private family gathering was held.
