Larry W. Blend

Lawrence W. "Larry" Blend, 74 of Perry Township, passed away on Friday, September 4, 2015 at Mercy Medical Center with his family at his side. He was born in Canton on July 1, 1941 and was the son of the late John and Clara (DeMont) Blend. Larry was a 1959 graduate of Central Catholic High School, he then went on to serve in the Ohio National Guard. He worked at and retired from the Ford Motor Company. He was an officer in the Stark County Hot Stove League and was a coach with the Perry Heights Baseball Association. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Joe Blend. Larry is survived by his wife of 48 years, Donna J. (Remalia) Blend, his son and daughter-in-law, Skip and Kim Blend, his daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Mark Kowalczyk, grandchildren, Alec and Kyle Blend and Cody and Connor Kowalczyk, his sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Sam Mirto and his brother and sister-in-law, John and Kitty Blend. In keeping with Larry's wishes, cremation will take place with no calling hours or services.
