Larry R. Kenney age 68 of Massillon passed away January 5, 2011 at Affinity Medical Center. He was born January 31, 1942 in Marietta to the late James & Ruth (Starkey) Kenney. In addition to his parents, who preceded him in death, his wife of 40 years Eileen passed away on October 4, 2010. Larry moved to Massillon in 1977. In 1994 he retired from Diebold Corporation after 20 years of service as Field Service Manager, then in 2007 he retired from the Hamilton Safe Co. as a field technician. Following retirement he continued to work part time with the Safegard Company. A lifetime interest in scouting began with cub scouts and continuing as a Scout leader in various capacities culminating with his receipt of the Silver Beaver Award. He and Eileen enjoyed spontaneously traveling, going wherever the highway took them - sight seeing and souvenir shopping along the way. He is survived by his loving son, Bradley A. (Pamela S.) Kenney of Green; his two grandsons, Brandon Michael and Patrick Ryan Kenney; his sister, Cheryl L. (William) Grube of Cataraugus, NY; nephews Joseph Grube and Douglas Grube both of NY; sister-in-law Carol A. (Larry L.) Lewis of West Palm Beach, FL; brother-in-law; Frederick W. (Connie K.) Wack of Concord, Ohio; nieces, Tammy (Rob) Kantzes of MD, Debby Lewis (Mengu Gungor) of Columbus, Jenny Lewis of VA, Diana (Scott) Williams, M.D. of Massillon, and many cousins. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Larry’s Life will be held on Saturday, January 8, 2011 at Grace Bible Church in North Lawrence at 11 A.M. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Grace Bible Church or his grandson’s Cub Scout Pack 124 of 8200 Cleveland Ave NW, North Canton, OH 44720.
