Larry Lee Brenner

April 13, 1930 — April 26, 2017

Larry L. Brenner, 87, of Massillon, passed away on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at Rose Lane Health Center with his family by his side. He was born on April 13, 1930 in East Greenville, Ohio to Wilfred and Nellie (Reese) Brenner. Larry was a 1948 graduate of Washington High School and proudly served his country in the United States Army. He married JoAnn Huston on August 2, 1963. They shared 53 loving years together. Larry retired from Superior Meats after 35 years of service. He was a member of the Massillon Baptist Temple, which he dearly loved. He was also a Sunday school teacher and bus driver for the church as well as the local schools. Larry enjoyed model trains, attending car shows, reading his Bible, sharing war stories and any type of John Deere memorabilia. Larry’s greatest passion in life, though, was being a husband, father and especially a grandfather. He will be deeply missed by his wife, JoAnn; children, Winifred Velazquez, Larry Brenner, JR., and Alice (Michael) Fisher; brother, John (Dolores) Brenner; 7 grandchildren and 5 great- grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his daughter, Diana Hendricks and two brothers, Wilfred and Merwyn Brenner. In keeping with the family’s wishes, cremation will take place and no services are planned at this time. The family would like to give special thanks to the nurses at Rose Lane and Amherst Meadows for their exceptional care and compassion for Larry, as well as Crossroads Hospice. In lieu of flowers, make contributions to the Massillon Baptist Temple, 1219 Overlook Ave SW, Massillon, OH 44647.
