Larry R. Hensel, 83, passed away on February 4, 2025, following a brief illness.
He was born in Massillon on April 25, 1941.
Larry worked for Superior Dairy for thirty-seven years retiring in 1998 and served as a volunteer fireman for the Perry Twp. Fire Department. He was a member of the former Moose Lodge in Massillon and was a social member of the Navarre VFW. Larry collected antique Superior Dairy bottles, toy trucks and other memorabilia. He also enjoyed traveling through Amish Country going to the sales and farmers markets. He was always on the lookout for his favorite collectables but mostly for “The Perfect Tomato. Larry loved canning and admired how beautiful the finished product looked.
He is survived by his children, Todd (Mia) Hensel, Deena (Jay) Mullane, Scott Hensel, Gregg (Shelby) Hensel, and Kellie Hensel; loving partner of twenty-three years, Anita Cramer; twelve grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Rusty (Susie) Hensel, Ralph (Ann) Hensel, and Adam (Gratzi) Hensel; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his father, Clyde O. Hensel; mother, Opal J. (Nofsinger) Williams; wife, Lynne (Potts) Hensel; siblings, Ronald Hensel, Clyde Hensel, and Bonnie Wade; and his faithful dog Bandit.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 11, 2025 from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm at the Paquelet and Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home, with a Last Alarm Ceremony by The Stark County Fire Fighters Association to begin at 12:00 pm in the funeral home, followed by a funeral service with Pastor William Andrick officiating.
Burial will follow at Union Lawn Cemetery, Navarre.
