Lara Ama Gashash Di Sabato

Lara Ama Gashash Di Sabato, age 48 of Massillon, passed away unexpectedly due to long-term COVID complications on May 9, 2022. Born April 9, 1974 in Detroit, MI, Lara was the first born child to Dr. Houneine and Rowaida Gashash. Lara was raised and spent most of her life in Massillon. After graduating from Canton Central Catholic High School, Lara attended Kent State University and The University of Akron, receiving her Masters Degree and choosing a career as an independently licensed counselor. Between raising her family she operated a private practice, helping hundreds of patients throughout the years, often taking calls after hours and on weekends to support those she was serving. Lara loved her family fiercely. In addition to her parents she is survived by her husband of 21 years, Micah; her beloved children (of the home), Luca, Giovanni, and Aria; and step-son Drs. Xavier (Amanda) Di Sabato. She was the leader of the pack for her younger brother and sister, Mike (Chrissy) Gashash and Paula Kray; and was a doting aunt to her brood of nieces Vega, Gabby, Tessa, Cadence and Nadia. Lara is also survived by many extended family members and friends here, as well as in Damascus, Syria. Lara had the most compassionate heart, we will be lost without her. She was often the first person many turned to for a loving ear and patient advice. We will forever miss her sweet voice, beautiful blue eyes, contagious laugh and witty sense of humor. She was truly better than most. Memory eternal. The family will receive friends on Monday, May 16 from 5-7:30pm at Paquelet Funeral Home, 1100 Wales Road, Massillon.
