Kent H. Welsh, 48, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, June 24, 2016, and walked into the embrace of his Savior and his beloved mom. He was born in Massillon on February 14, 1968 to the late Delores (Kent) Welsh and Howard Welsh of Massillon. He was a graduate of Jackson High School and The New England Culinary Institute. Kent was a Master Chef who loved cooking and gardening. He loved to say, "Food is a groovy thing." He was known for his hardworking nature and his big heart, both for people and dogs. Kent was a poet and an ordained deacon and youth pastor who was always ready with an encouraging word for those around him. He was a generous and affectionate friend, especially to those forgotten or overlooked by others. Kent earnestly sought after God and was a member of Faith Community Fellowship Church. He is survived by his wife, Saren A. (Skipper) Welsh, whom he married on May 15, 2009; their daughter, Ava; two sisters, Pam Welsh and Stephanie (Chris) Berndt; two nieces, Ellie Berndt and Abbey Berndt; and a nephew, Nick (Annie) Welsh. Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, June 29, from 6:00pm-8:00pm at Faith Community Fellowship Church, Massillon, and on Thursday, June 30, from 10:00am-11:00am at the Church followed by a Celebration of Life service at 11:00am, Pastor Mike Kager and Chris Berndt, officiating.
