Kenneth E. Halco passed over into eternity on Wednesday January 30, 2013 at the age of 86 from complications of pneumonia. Kenny was born July 1, 1926 in Massillon to the late Matthew & Susan (Bocko) Halco and graduated from Washington High School in 1944. He received an honorable discharge from the Army following WW II. He was the owner of Kenny's Metals for 22 years and retired from Republic Steel after 37 years in 1988. An active member of St. John Lutheran Church, the Retirees Club, Stark County Beekeepers and also volunteered at the Sanders Wildlife Center. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by two brothers, Leo & Ernest Halco He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Katheryne (Nikolis) Halco; a daughter, Deborah (Gene) Stocker; three grandchildren, Kristi (Charles) Upole of Hinckley, Ohio, Karen (Ryan) Cross of Monroe, Louisiana and Kenneth "Rusty" Stocker; seven great grandchildren: Taylor, Kelsy and Amber Cross, Nathan, Joshua, Hannah & Ben Upole; a sister, Dorothy (Russell) Sheets of Arizona and many nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be 1 PM Monday February 4, 2013 at St. John Lutheran Church, his pastor Rev. John Telloni will officiate. Burial will follow at Massillon Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday from 2-4 PM at the Paquelet Funeral Home and one hour before the service at the church on Monday.
