Kenneth W. Brown, age 80 of Massillon, died Saturday, July 1, 2006 at Massillon Community Hospital. He was born on June 21, 1926 in Wellsburg, WV and was the son of the late Floyd and Velera (Calindine) Brown. He was a Navy veteran serving in the Pacific Theater during WWII. He retired from Norfolk and Southern Railroad where he was a Division Engineer. His passion was baseball. He enjoyed playing, managing and watching baseball. His favorite team was the Pittsburg Pirates. He also loved to go to spring training in Florida. He was a member of Brewster United Methodist Church where he had served as a trustee. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Leslie Paul Brown, his sisters, Martha Ogden and Margaret Pickford and his brother Wendell Brown. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Dorothea May (Arthurs) Brown, his children and their spouses, Kenny (Phyllis) Brown of Steubenville, OH, Susan (Mike) Alexander of Beach City, OH, Bruce (Becky) Brown of Massillon and Cindy Brown Spangler of Massillon, 6 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, his sisters, Lillian Mosser and Beulah Furbee and his brother Charles Brown. Funeral services will be held at the Paquelet Funeral Home on Thursday at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Ray Peters officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. Memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Brown’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association.
