Kay M. Grassler, age 63, passed away at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Massillon on July 18, 1949 to the late Earl and Betty (Able) Kirby. She attended Washington High School. Kay married David Grassler on September 19, 1970 sharing 42 wonderful years together and he survives her. Kay worked for Massillon City Hospital for 15 years before joining the Massillon City Schools, where she worked as cook until her retirement. Kay was a woman of many interests including, cooking, shopping, camping, but most importantly spending time with her family. Kay never knew a stranger. She will be forever remembered as a kind and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. In addition to her husband David, she is survived by her sons, Brian (Diane) Grassler and Donald Grassler; her grandchildren, Michael, Logan, Nicholas and Peighton Grassler; her brothers and sisters Earlene Bartko, Chuck (Linda) Kirby, Paul (Karen) Kirby, Woody (Kathy) Kirby, Jane (Rick) Engler, Eugene (Peggy) Kutcher, Bobby (Lillian) Kutcher, Earl (Gloria) Kirby and Jerry Kirby, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. A funeral service will be held at the Paquelet Funeral Home on Friday, February 22, 2013 at 8:15 P.M. Fr. Thomas Cebula and Marcia Thomas officiating.
