Kathy Louise Mautz, age 58 of Massillon, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, February 7, 2013 at Mercy Medical Center. Although she had many complicated illnesses during her lifetime, she was always strong and positive. She was a role model for her family and friends of strength and courage. Kathy had a close personal relationship with her Heavenly Father through His Word and through prayer. She was prepared to meet Him when He called her home to Heaven. Kathy was born on March 25, 1954 in Canton, Ohio the daughter of William and Virginia (Hershberger) Kamerer. She was a 1972 graduate of Lake High School and worked at Molly Stark Hospital. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Massillon. Kathy enjoyed playing Euchre, playing at various places in Massillon. She loved playing Wii with her grandkids and had an admirable collection of antique dishes. She had a love of music ranging from country to classical organ music. She is survived by her loving husband, Don with whom she shared 37 years of marriage; her daughter, Tammy (Daryl) Porter; her grandchildren, Korynn, Steven and Kelsey; her parents William and Virginia Kamerer; her brother, Jeffrey (Gretchen) Kamerer, her sister, Cynthia (Eric) Stoltz; her nieces and nephews, Callie, and Erin and Scott Stoltz, and Caroline, Eliott and Mitchell Kamerer. She will be missed and always remembered. A Celebration of Kathy's Life will be held on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Stephen Martyr Lutheran Church, 4600 Fulton Dr. N.W, Canton, OH. Friends may call at the church from 11- 1 p.m. prior to the service. Private inurnment will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.
