Kathy L. Cecil

Katherine L. Cecil, 78, of Massillon, passed away Friday, August 30th, 2024 at her home, surrounded by family.

Kathy was born on January 14th, 1946 in Canton OH to the late Ray and Ruth Sponseller. She was a dedicated wife, mom and grandmother to her adoring family. Kathy loved to read, especially her Bible. She loved to play Scrabble and spending time with her family. She was incredibly proud of her only grandchild, Ryley, whom she always enjoyed watching bowl on TV. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Kathy leaves behind her loving husband of 54 years, Lee Cecil; her children Nicole Cecil, Sandra Cecil and Stacy (Michael) Geitgey; her granddaughter Ryley Cecil; her brother R. Dean (Debbie) Sponseller; her brother-in-law Ron Fenningsdorf and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

In addition to her parents, Kathy is preceded in death by her sisters Debra Crock and Carol Fenningsdorf and her nephews Kevin Fenningsdorf and R. Eric Sponselle

A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, September 9, 2024, at 7PM, at the Paquelet Funeral Home, 1100 Wales Rd. NE, Massillon, OH 44646. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ohio Life Care Hospice of Wooster.
