Kathryn Simon

Kathryn Simon, age 102 of Massillon, passed away Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at Amherst Meadows. She was born on July 20, 1908 in Massillon the daughter of the late Joseph and Gertrude (Sonnhalter) Miller. Kathryn was a lifelong resident of the area and a 1926 graduate of Mount Marie Academy. Kathryn operated her father’s business, Miller Glove Company, in the early years. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Anton J. Simon in 2000, her brother Quentin Miller, her sister Agnes Heible and grandson Jeffrey Anton Simon. She is survived by her sons Roland (Suzanne) Simon of Canal Fulton and Gerald (Gayle) Simon of Kent; her grandsons Christopher (Johanna) Simon and Adam (Cherie) Simon; her great-grandchildren Benjamin, Joshua, Alexander, Ethan and Logan Simon and her sister Elizabeth Stonybrooke. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, January 24, 2011 at 10 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Fr. Raymond Paul will be officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.
