Kathleen Patton

Kathleen Patton, age 81 of Massillon passed away Saturday morning at her home. She was born in East Palestine, Ohio on September 19, 1925 to the late Abram & Christina Ann (Gillis) Archibald. Kathleen graduated from East Palestine High School in 1943. She married Richard Eugene Patton of East Palestine on May 17, 1947. Kathleen was employed by Superior Meats & in 1990 she retired from the U.S. Postal Service. She enjoyed making bread, sewing, gardening & especially spending time with her family. Kathleen was an active member of St. Barbara’s Catholic Church serving as an Eucharistic minister, on the bereavement committee, & also assisted with the Sacristy. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 brothers, Donald & Regis Archibald, & a sister, Mary Dilworth. Survived by 3 daughters: Rebecca & Gerald Pellegrino of Canton, Nancy Patton & Jean Block of Columbus, Peggy & Krist Gugov of Massillon 3 sons; Randy & Linda Patton of Massillon Timothy & Leona Patton of Massillon, and Richard Patton of Massillon; 1 sister Vivian Clark of East Palestine, a Sister-in-law Miriam Archibald of East Palestine, 13 grandchildren and 16 Great Grandchildren. Many nieces & nephews. The family would like to thank all her care givers especially, Kay Swiegart for their devoted care. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday at St. Barbara’s Catholic Church at 10 A.M. Friends may call from 6-8 P.M. at the Paquelet Funeral Home on Monday (TONIGHT). Fr. Thomas Cebula will officiate. Burial will take place at St. Barbara’s Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the St. Barbara’s Building Fund or the Alzheimer’s Association.
