Kathleen J. Nally, beloved wife of Thomas Nally and mother of Thomas (Cora) of Moscow, Joan (Paul Slagle) of Bethesda, MD, Mary Patricia of Massillon, John (Sarah) of Dayton, Brian of Massillon and Michael of Bethesda, passed away Wednesday, January 11. Kathleen was the second of 10 children, born to Joan and John Gillespie and grew up in the Youngstown area, having graduated from Cardinal Mooney High School in 1961. She married her husband of 51 years in 1965 and moved to the Stark County area in 1971. In those 45 years, in addition to raising her six children, she graduated from Walsh University in 1993, was a substitute teacher from 1993-1999 in Stark parochial schools and taught at St. Clement, Navarre from 1999-2008. She was a member of St. Joseph, Massillon parish and choir, Bernadettes at Knights of Columbus, the Red Hat Society, and the Democrat Women of Stark County. She and Tom enjoyed their time over the years, selling tickets at sporting events at Central Catholic High School and saw it as an opportunity to stay connected to the school community where Tom had taught for so many years. As the second eldest of 10, she leaves behind three brothers and four sisters who will miss her dearly: John of Bethesda, Md, Mary Margaret (Pat) of Milwaukee, Wi., Juliann (Rick) of Powell, Ohio, Joan Donahue (Jack) of Asbury Park, NJ, Joseph of Santa Monica, Ca., Ann (Ellis Theodorakos) of Chevy Chase, Md., Anthony (Diane) of Alexandria. She is preceded in death by two brothers, Michael and Edward. Additionally, she leaves behind her sister-in-law Eileen Joyce and her beloved aunt, Almadean Gillespie, brothers-in law Daniel Nally (Mary) of Warrenton, VA, and James Gorman of Canfield, Ohio, and lunch and card playing buddies, Eileen and Frank Fisher. Her greatest source of joy in her last years were her grandchildren - Tara and Jove Nally (Tom and Cora) and little Emma (John and Sarah). Her love and pure delight in them knew no limits, as the numerous pictures scattered throughout her home demonstrated. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and cousins who loved her thoughtfulness. Known as Kate by her siblings and Kathy by her husband and friends, Kathleen will now rest with their daughter, Mary Kathleen, who died at birth. Rest In Peace...we love you more.
