Kathleen G. Longwell

Kathleen G. Longwell, 66 of Massillon, passed away on Thursday, July 19, 2018. Kathleen was born on May 6, 1952 in Canton, Ohio the daughter of the late Mike and Martha (Malobabich) Zimer. She was a lifelong resident of the area. Kathleen worked in the banking industry for over 30 years. Kathleen was an avid Cleveland and Ohio State sports fan. She enjoyed baking, music, especially the Beatles, reading, gardening and most of all spending time with her family. She was known as Baba to her grandchildren who were truly her pride and joy. Kathleen was a member of St. George Serbian Orthodox Church. She never believed in saying goodbye but rather “See you soon”. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Julie Germanoff; niece, Amy Zimer; and nephew, Steve Zimer. She is survived by her husband, James P. Longwell whom she married on December 23, 1966; her children, Paul Longwell, Erik (Nancy) Longwell, Nicole (David) Vaughn and Adam (Heather) Longwell; grandchildren, Emma, Makenzie, Sam, Aidan, Drew, Kendall and Libby; brother, Milan (Linda) Zimer; several nieces and nephews; brothers-in-law; sister-in-law; and many friends. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at 10 a.m. at St. George Serbian Orthodox Church. Interment will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery.
