Karl W. Bausch, age 80 of Canton passed away Tuesday January 11, 2011 at Aultman Hospital. Karl was born March 12, 1930 in Weisbaden, Germany to the late Karl W. & Augusta (Bauberger) Bausch. He was raised in Germany and came to the US in 1953. He served in the US Army and was recognized as the outstanding soldier at Ft. Knox (1954). For 24 years he was the maintenance engineer for the former Stern & Mann Company; then he was employed for 22 years at Republic Steel in Canton. He was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. He loved spending time with his family, which was most important to him. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three children: Diane, Sharon and Steven; and a sister, Helga Johnson. Karl married the love of his life, Nancy (Carroll) Bausch; with whom he shared 56 years of marriage. They have four surviving children, Karl M. (Tammy) Bausch of Woodstock, GA, David W. (Gail) Bausch of Columbus, Cheryl (David) Pritchard of Canton and Matthew E. (Jennifer) Bausch of Massillon. He has a niece and two brothers: Mary Ann Cain of Canton, Rudy & Willie Bausch of Germany. There are two grandchildren: Lauren and Gregory and three step-grandchildren, John S., Heather and Joshua. A Memorial Service will be 3 P.M. Saturday at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon. Friends are invited to call Saturday from 2 P.M. until the service at the funeral home. His final resting place will be Calvary Cemetery.
