Karen Sue Dale, 73, of Massillon, passed away unexpectedly on July 19, 2017. She was born in Massillon, Ohio on May 12, 1944 to the late Chester and Laureen (Hofstetler) Bolender. Karen married Richard Dale on February 12, 1972. They shared 45 loving years together. Karen worked off and on as a bank teller for many years. She enjoyed bowling and weekend trips with her husband, especially to some of the casinos in Niagara Falls. Karen was avid basket and figurine collector and loved tending to her flowers. Her greatest passion in life was being a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be deeply missed by her family and to all that knew her. She is survived by her husband; children John (Inger) Ryder, Donna (Anthony) Boothe, Denise (Tommy) Dale, and Thomas (Trista) Dale; siblings, Dianne (Larry) Emery, Kenneth Bolender, Debbie Phillips and Jeffrey (Kelly) Derr; 13 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. In addition to her parents, Karen is preceded in death by her sister Patti Webster and brother Jim Bolender. A private graveside service will take place at Newman Creek Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association, 4682 Douglas Cir NW, Canton, OH 44718.
