October 24, 1931 — February 10, 2013

June L. James, age 81 of Canton, passed away on Sunday, February 10, 2013 at Aultman Hospital. She was born on October 24, 1931 in London, Ohio and was the daughter of the late Carl and Evelyn (Bennett) Ray. June enjoyed making and collecting ceramics and cooking for family and friends at holiday gatherings, but her favorite pastime was spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of the Church of the Lakes United Methodist Church. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Jack Ray and Eldon "Bud" Ray. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Richard H. James, her daughter and son-in-law, Karen and John Hampton, her son, Alan James, her grandchildren, Rachel James and Derrick James and her sisters, Joy (Robert) Livingston and Janice Cupp. A memorial service to celebrate the life of June James will take place on Thursday at 12:00 P.M. at the Church of the Lakes United Methodist Church with Rev. Leslie Peine officiating. Entombment will take place in a niche at the church. The family will receive friends at the church one hour before the service.
