June H. Rumford

June H. Rumford, age 92 of Canton, passed away Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at the Allay Senior Care of Meyers Lake. June was born on March 31, 1920 in Oakland, CA the daughter of the late Charles M. and Freda (VonAspern) Hall. She enjoyed reading, poetry, oil painting, and playing the piano. June especially looked forward to spending time with her great grandchildren. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband George L. Rumford, Jr., and her sisters Ramona Hamlin and Ruth Carter. She is survived by her daughters, Pamela (Michael) Bair of Canton and Carol Shearer of Eagle River, AK; her grandchildren, Sarah (AJ) Rohr and Katie (Rob) Motz both of Massillon, Emily (Webb) Girard of Renton, WA, Scott Shearer of Seattle, WA, and Kristina (Alan) Beers of Charlotte, NC; her great grandchildren, Kody, Ava, Serenity, Elijah, Alina, Isla, and Alness; and several nieces and nephews. Her family would like to thank the staff of Allay Senior Care for their extraordinary dedication to, and compassionate care of, June and all the residents at Allay. There will be no calling hours or funeral services. The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date.
