Julius A. Karnai

Julius 'Jay' A. Karnai, age 88, passed away Saturday, April 28, 2012 at Altercare of Navarre. He was born July 5, 1923 in Lorain, OH to the late John & Mary (Szuca) Karnai and moved to Massillon in 1955. Mr. Karnai served in the Army from 1943 thru 1945 and received an honorable discharge. In 1951, he received a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from Kent State University, and went on to become a CPA. Jay retired from Diebold 1986 after 31 years of employment. Jay is a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Massillon, the St. Vincent de Paul Society, Knights of Columbus #554 and Bishop Massillon Assembly Fourth Degree. He is survived by wife, Clara (Wilhelm) Karnai with whom he shared 56 years of marriage on July 2; a brother, Elek Karnai and several nieces, nephews and cousins. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 AM Thursday May 3, 2012 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Massillon, his pastor Fr. Edward Gretchko will officiate.
