Julie “Jules” Elizabeth Ellis, aged 66, of Navarre, OH went home to be with the Lord on December 27, 2023, after a courageous battle with stage IV lung cancer. She was born April 21, 1957. Julie spent thirty years working for Nickles Bakery, where she made lifelong friendships.
Julie enjoyed living life to the fullest, traveling to Texas, trips out to Amish Country, and thrift shopping at Ollie’s and GoodWill. She was an avid food and dessert lover, particularly pie. Julie loved all animals. She loved going to the beach as well as looking at lighthouses. Being a very creative person, she enjoyed both drawing and painting. To keep her mind sharp, she loved to do Brain Games and Word searches. Julie had a very giving heart. If someone had a need, she was there to help any way she could. She had the best laugh and enjoyed making others laugh. Julie loved the Lord and going to church.
Julie was preceded in death by her mother, Frances Lucille Balch (Lockhart), in 2014 and father, Robert Bright Balch, in 2003.
She is survived by her children, Rondell (Chad) Dovidio and Randall (Cliff Bunch) Balch; grandchildren, Alexis Balch and Logan Balch; many cousins, friends, as well as kids and grandkids she “adopted” along the way; dogs, Bailey and Faith; and her loving African Grey parrot, Scooby Doo.
One of Julie’s last wishes was for people not to mourn her passing, but to celebrate the fact that she lived and to remember the good times. To respect her wishes, there will not be services held. Julie wanted anyone who loved her to gather over a meal and laugh - just as she did in life. Details regarding a luncheon will be provided by family in the coming weeks.
