Judith Reiter

Judy I. “Jude” Reiter, 80 of Massillon, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 11, 2020 at 11:16 pm surrounded by family. She was born in Massillon on September 5, 1939 and was the daughter of Alfred W. Canterbury and Virginia M. France Canterbury. Judy is survived by her husband of 62 years, Charles “Chuck”, her daughter, Lee (JJ) DiLoreto, sons Charles J. “C.Jay” Reiter, and Ted (Kaye) Reiter. Her grandchildren , Kelly (Gene) Matako, David DiLoreto, Matthew (Brittni) Fabinak, Joseph C. Reiter and Michael J. Reiter and her great grandchildren Kendallyn and Gino Matako. Also surviving are her stepbrother and stepsisters, Bud (Patty) Canterbury, Lynn Canterbury and Joanne (Fred) Brown, her special niece Pam David and her nephew Michael (Suzanne) David. She was preceded in death by her sister Lois David. After raising her family, Judy stepped out into the business world as a writer for numerous papers, then operated a successful children’s clothing store, (Sugar Baby’s) for several years. She then ventured into a very successful real estate career for nearly 20 years. Her family was her greatest love along with her numerous fur babies. Judy and Chuck enjoyed traveling the country in their R.V. The family will receive friends at the Paquelet Funeral Home on Saturday, from 1-4 P.M. with a service to follow at 4 PM. A private burial will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Stark County Humane Society.
