Judith O. (Wauffull) Haas Judy Haas, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, a proud lifetime resident of Jackson Township, passed away peacefully, yet unexpectedly on Friday, October 8, 2021, at the age of 82. Judy was born February 24, 1939, in Canton, Ohio, to the late George & Arlene Wauffull. Judy was married to her husband Joe B. Haas who passed away in 2007, for over 50 years. Together, they fostered goodwill and generosity to all who were blessed to know them. After 14 years apart, they are finally reunited in heaven. Judy had many notable achievements throughout her active life including her Bowling League High Series average of 524 and perfect 300 game and taking first place in the Women’s Powder Puff ~ Stock Car Racing (car #45) in 1970. In addition, she enjoyed spending her time as a tennis instructor at Branhaven Swim & Tennis Club for many years. However, her greatest achievement was her family. She was extraordinarily proud of her 3 children, 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She took great pride in always being present in their lives and sharing stories and updates about them. She encouraged them, shared words of wisdom and life reflections with them and reminded them to read, vote, volunteer and make a difference in the lives of others. Judy cherished each day and was delighted to meet someone new. Her philosophy on life was to “inspire everyone you can along life's journey, volunteer in your community and treasure your family.” Judith O. (Wauffull) Haas is survived by; daughters and sons-in-law, Patty and Steven Meeks of Jackson Twp., and Joyce and Mark Martin of Jackson Twp; son and daughter-in-law, John and Kristen Haas of Jackson Twp; “Sister-bell” Jane Ellen Slutz of Canton, loving sisters-in-law, Aglaia Haas of Jackson Twp., and Frances Cowgill of Perry Twp.; Edith (Olan) Kinsley of Canton.; And loving grandchildren, Ashley (Joey) Brightbill, Anna Meeks (Chris Smith) , Andrea Rohr, and Steven Meeks, Johnny (Roshelle) Fetzer and Jody (Jason) Heighley, Baylee (Sam) Gang, Blake Haas and Lexy Haas; Thirteen adorable great grandchildren; Hudson and Harrison Brightbill, Ameia, Nina and Maddox Smith, Vincent Rohr, Cailin, McKenna, Juliana and Johnny Fetzer, Olivia Heighley, Charlee Haas and Elijah Gang, as well as several dear nephews, nieces and cousins. In addition to Judy’s parents, she is preceded in death by brother, William Wauffull; brothers-in-law Butch Slutz, Ed Haas, Tony Haas, Louise Wenger; Nephew, Andy Haas and Grandson Alex Haas. Judy’s family wishes to extend heartfelt acknowledgment to the Altercare Navarre staff and Judy’s friends Robin, Aicha and Joe. Special thanks to Dr. Allison Oprandi, Dr. Natalie Lascola, Dr. Vincent Sudimak and Dr. Franz for providing Judy with the best of care that allowed her to enjoy her final stage of life. A celebration of Judy’s life will be conducted on Friday, Oct.15th, 2021 from 5 - 7 pm, and a funeral service immediately following at 7 pm at the Paquelet Funeral Home ~ 1100 Wales Rd. N.E. Massillon with Pastor Thomas Gang officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made at calling hours for a tree to be planted in Jackson Park in Judy’s memory.
