Judith C. Ries

Judith C. Ries, LPN, 69 passed away on Thursday, May 1, 2014 at Affinity Medical Center, Massillon, following an extended illness. She was born in Massillon on November 22, 1944 to the late Herman & Catherine (Sonnhalter) Klar. She was a graduate of Central Catholic and the Timken Mercy School of Nursing. Judy worked at Massillon Community Hospital for many years and then in several nursing centers. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and a very strong woman dedicated to her family. Judy had an interest in cooking, traveling and a love of movies and musicals. She is survived by her husband, David H. Ries, whom she married on April 8, 1967; their children, Diane Ries of Massillon and David H. Ries, Jr. of Jackson Twp.; Granddaughter, Brittney Daniska of Massillon; brother, David Klar of Wilmont; a special nephew, Stephan Donovan of Norwalk; numerous other nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Ann Klar and Rosemary Pfister; brother, Allen Klar. Friends and family may call at the Paquelet Funeral Home on Monday, May 5, 2014 from 6:00PM-8:00PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Raymond Paul at St. Joseph's Catholic Church at 10:00AM on Tuesday, May 6, 2014. Burial will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery.
