Judge Paul E. ‘Pep’ Paulson age 83 of Massillon passed away September 3, 2005 at Doctors Hospital. He was born March 9, 1922 in Massillon to the late Dr. Paul Arthur & Emma (Edwards) Paulson. He lived most of his life in Massillon and was a 1940 graduate of Washington High School. While a Junior in high school he was the first ‘Obie’ for the years 1938 & 1939. Following high school he attended the University of Chicago and received an associate degree and was president of the Psi Upsilon Fraternity. He was a Lieutenant in Air Force. Following the war he received an accounting degree from Kent State University and earned a JD from Ohio State University. He was in private practice until becoming a Municipal Court Judge of Western Stark County for the years 1970-1982. His civic activities included: memberships of Clinton Lodge #47 F. & A.M., and the Rotary Club of Massillon. He has been a Rotarian since 1970 and had chaired the Youth Exchange Program for many years. He also served as president of the Massillon Rotary, District Governor, and was recognized as Paul Harris Fellow. Golfers will remember him as a starter and for his banter at the Legends Golf Course. He is survived by: Wife Jean (Lindstrom) Paulson with whom he would have shared 58 years of marriage on September 6th. Daughter Kristin E. Paulson of Singapore Son Charles L. Paulson of Rocky River, OH Brothers William H. Paulson of New Mexico Richard L. Paulson of Sagamore Hills, OH A Celebration of his life will be 10:30 A. M. Thursday at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon. Friends may call Wednesday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
