Joyce L. Walters

Joyce Walters, age 66 of Massillon, died on Saturday, August 17, 2013 at the Laurels of Massillon. She was born in Canton, Ohio on December 15, 1946 and was the daughter of the late Walter and Hazel (Poole) Gum. Joyce retired from The Atrium OBGYN where she worked in billing and insurance claims in 2011. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren. It was her positive attitude that sustained her and her family throughout her illness. She was outgoing and a caring person, thinking of others right until the end of her life. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Lois Mitchell. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Marc and Danielle Walters and Michelle and Garry Tausch, her grandchildren, Hannah and Brittany Walters and Stone and Brynn Tausch, her sister, Ina (Kenny) Killian, her former husband and caregiver Terry Hoagland, special friends, Carol and Mike Kretzinger and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service to celebrate her life will take place on Wednesday at 3:00 P.M. at the Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour before the service.
