Joyce was born January 10, 1928, in Flushing, Ohio; the daughter of the late William H. Jenkins and Catherine (Arnold) Jenkins. She was raised in Flushing and moved to North Lawrence, Ohio at the age of 11.
Joyce was a 1946 graduate of Washington High School. She was in the banking business for 35 years. Starting at the State Bank in Massillon, Ohio and retired from the Central Trust Company in 1990. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Massillon Senior Citizens, The American Institute of Banking, Hill Gang Association and Spring Hill Historic Home Inc. Joyce loved to watch game shows, particularly Wheel of Fortune and The Price is Right. She also enjoyed watching TCM classic movies and keeping up with the PGA Tour and the Cleveland Browns.
Joyce will be remembered for her kind heart, and ability to spread happiness to those who knew her. She will be deeply missed.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband John W. Gotch. They had been married 55 years.
Also, brothers James " Pups " Jenkins, William (Mary Lou) Jenkins Jr. and brothers-in-law Mel Brillhart and Barry Cox.
She is survived by her daughter Michelle A. Gotch and her son, Thomas (Billie) Gotch. Her grandchildren, Leesa Troxell, Gina (Rob) Purdy; great-grandchildren, Robbie and Jared Purdy, Kayla, Kassidy (Fiancée D.K.), and Kyle Troxell; great-great-grandchildren, Robbie Jr. and Grady Purdy; sisters, Judy Brillhart, Saundra Cox, and Gale (Hank) Heuser; and brother, Larry "Hop" (Nancy) Jenkins.
A private service will be held.
