Joyce E. Sarver

April 17, 1932 — December 8, 2020

Joyce E. Sarver Joyce Sarver (née Ours) passed away quietly in her sleep early in the morning on December 8, 2020 at the age of 88. Joyce had been a lifelong resident of Ohio, spending her first 73 years in the Columbus area and the last 15 years in the Massillon area. Preceding her in death were her husband Wilber (Bud) Sarver, and older siblings, George Ours and Norma Gunnerson. Joyce is survived by her children and their spouses, William (Cindy) Sarver and Brenda (Joseph) Seely, brother-in-law Hanford Gunnerson, sister-in-law Ruth Hummel and numerous nieces and nephews. Joyce was a retired school bus driver for Southwestern City Schools but is remembered most for her competitive spunk. She was an avid bowler and loved games of all types, always playing to win. She remained zealous in her church and religion, praising her Savior with her thoughts, prayers and the life she led. Per her wishes and in respect to others during this pandemic, there will only be a private graveside service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Arlington Church of the Nazarene in Akron, or Calvary Chapel in Massillon. Special thanks to both Pastor Darrell and Pastor Josh for the support they furnished during her illness.
