Joyce E. Criss-Stevenson

Joyce E. Criss-Stevenson, 52 started a new chapter with the Lord at her home in Massillon on Saturday, November 12, 2011. Joyce was born in Canton, OH on July 3, 1959 to the late Rev. Edgar C. Criss and Geneva (Bowling) Criss-Sparks. She was a graduate of McKinley High. She married Tony Stevenson on November 30, 2002 and he survives her. She was a longtime active member of New Life Tabernacle originally founded by her father, the Rev. Criss as the Apostolic Pentecostal Church of Massillon. Joyce led a Christ filled life since she was a child. She was an encouragement and loving inspiration to her husband, children, family and friends. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children Miranda (David) Boone, Michael Jackson, Erich (Kristi) Jackson. One grandchild Aaron Jackson, her siblings, Debbie (Randy) Neff, Carol (Roger) Lambert, Sharon (Tom) Jackson, Larry (Cheryl) Criss, Barb (Gary) Lambert, Judy (Brian) Little, Brenda (Brian) Starcher, John (Pam) Criss, Bryan (Vicky) Snyder, Daniel (Rebecca) Criss, her Step-Father, William “Bill”(Pauline) Sparks, and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Karen Kirby, and a great niece Kamryn Sellers. Services are scheduled for Friday, November 18, 2011 at New Life Tabernacle, Pastor Keith Blaylock officiating at 12 noon with the family receiving friends from 10 A.M. until the time of the service.
