Joyce A. Ardent

Joyce A. Ardent, 75, of Canton, passed away at the Landings of Canton on June 25, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on April 1, 1946 in Canton to the late Elwood and Nancy (Glines) Cupp. She was a 1964 graduate of McKinley High School. Joyce worked in the human resources department at the Stark County Board of MRDD and retired after 25 years. She found enjoyment from the simple things in life such as watching Hallmark movies, taking walks, gardening, and meeting weekly with her friends for card club, which she really looked forward to. Joyce also had a passion for art. She was very artistic when it came to painting and she was able to share that love with her granddaughter Brianna. She was not only blessed with one grandchild, but 2 more, as well, as one great-granddaughter who will be here in September. Joyce was a very blessed Nana and her grandchildren remember her being there with her love and support in everything that they did. She will be deeply missed by her loving daughter and son-in-law Tia and Michael Andreotti; her grandchildren who were the light of her life, Brianna (Tony) Kern, Aaliyah (Brock) Phillips, and Michael Andreotti II; brothers Ronald “Ronnie” Cupp, Charles “Chuckie” Cupp and Bill Cupp; and life-long friend Sally Sengos. In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by her husband Michael Stanley Ardent; her sister Shirley Cupp and brother Jimmy Cupp. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 30th from 11am to 1pm at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon. Funeral services will begin at 1pm and burial will take place at Sunset Hills Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Stark County Humane Society, 5100 Peach St NE, Louisville, OH 4464, in honor of Joyce’s beloved cat, Milo.
