Josephine Spevere

Josephine (Jo) (Germano) Spevere Jo, 85, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 5, 2016. Jo was born in Akron, Ohio, August 13, 1930. She was a 1948 graduate of Kenmore High School. After beauty school, she was the owner/operator of Charm Center Beauty Salon, which was started by her sister, Rosemary and then ran by her sister, Cathy. Jo was a loving wife, dedicated mother, proud grandmother and a devout Catholic. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Massillon, where she was a volunteer for many years. Jo loved to garden, write, paint and spoil her family with homemade meatballs, spaghetti sauce and pizzelles. Jo was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Maria (Bertolini) Germano; brothers, Fulvio, Ribby, Leno and Floyd; sisters, Angie, Rosemary and her twin, Cathy. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Ralph Spevere, daughter, Cathy (Leo) Fernandez, son, Ralph (Bonnie) Spevere Jr., grandchildren; Antonio Fernandez, Matthew Fernandez, Marisa Fernandez, Anthony Spevere and Gabriella Spevere, her gambling buddies; niece, Vicki Butwill, dear friend, Judy Boord, special friends, Maureen and Dave Haffner. Cremation has taken place. Mass of Christian burial will be held, Saturday, April 9, 2016, 12:30pm at St. Paul's Church, 127 Cherry Road NE, Massillon, OH, 44646, with Fr. Ed Gretchko, celebrant. Jo's family would like to thank all of her doctors and nurses for their care, especially the entire staff at the Aultman Woodlawn Compassionate Care Center. You are all earth angels.
