Josephine K. Cardinal

Josephine K. Cardinal age 93, of Massillon passed away October 26, 2013. She was born October 5, 1920 in Follansbee, WV to the late Joseph & Anna (Bellanco) Sicurella. Jo was raised in Dover by her mother and step-father, Anna & Charles Pietro Sr. and moved to Massillon when she married her late husband, Lawrence in 1949. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Christian Mother & Alter Rosary Society. Josephine enjoyed Italian cooking, making cakes and desserts. The Massillon Tigers were her team and she attended the games for years. Her best times were spent with her family and watching her grandchildren grow up. She was preceded in death by her husband, a sister and two brothers. She is survived by four children: Mike Cardinal (Beverly), Larry (Tammy) Cardinal, Tom (Tina) Cardinal and Anne (Rick) Shaffer. Grandchildren are: Amanda, Alicia and Michael Cardinal, Lisa (Dave) Windell, Jana (Chris) Anderson, Krista Cardinal, T. J. (Jess) Cardinal, Tara (Mike) Maxheimer, Kellie (Alex) Colaner, Maggie & Jen Shaffer and ten great grandchildren. There are two sisters and a brother: Josephine Bellanco, Dorothy Sicurella and Charles Pietro Jr. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 AM Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Fr. Raymond Paul will officiate. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call Monday from 6-8 PM at the Paquelet Funeral Home and from 9-9:30 AM on Tuesday at the funeral home.
