Josephine "Joan" Chovan

Josephine “Joan” Chovan, 84, passed away on August 1, 2018, following an extended illness. She was born in Yonkers, NY on June 24, 1934 to the late William and Helen (DuBois) Connelly. A 1952 graduate of Washington High School, Joan was a regular volunteer at the Massillon Public Library and Summer Bible School at Faith Lutheran Church. She was dedicated to her family and enjoyed crafting, sewing and painting. Joan is survived by her husband, Milan Chovan, whom she married on May 29, 1952; their children, William (Lynne) Chovan of Bradenton, FL, Lorraine (Geoff) Fritz of Massillon and Robert (Lori) Chovan of Massillon; five grandchildren, Adrienne, Shannon, Jennifer, Jacki and Robyn; seven great-grandchildren; two great-great- grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Jacki Chovan; sister, Delores Fabianski; and a brother, John Connelly.
