Josephine Jessie Mae Brown, 78, went home to be with the Lord Our God on September 27, 2013 at her home surrounded by family and friends. She was born in Eustis, Florida on August 26, 1935. She was a faithful member of Morningstar United Holy Church and she loved and respected her pastor. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Miller J. Hamilton, her parents Mamie Lee Lundy(Hodges) and Charles Robert Edward (New York), her sister Doris Hudson, her daughters, Wendy Brown, Linda D. Brown, grandsons Deon Stinson, Anthony B. Halasinski, and first husband and father of all her children Sergeant First Class Alphonso J. Brown Sr. Left to cherish her memory are her sister Delores Jordan (Florida), her children Carolyn Y. Brown, Alphonso J. Brown, Jr. (Georgia), Kenneth E. Brown, Sr., Sharlene A. Brown, Antonio (Darlene) L. Brown (Georgia), Jennifer (Bobby) Grizzard, Sonya R. Echols, Tracy P. Brown, Peter E. Brown, Kristal Y. Brown, Mark Hamilton, her special nieces Patricia Hudson, Linda Hudson and Lisa Hudson and a special nephew Jerome Hudson, a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, children she took into heart and home and friends. Also left to cherish her memory is special lifelong friends Ms. Karrie Jackson, Mrs. Agnes Townsend, Ms. Freddia Walker, Mrs. Harriet Sue Stradwick, and Ms.Ethel Copeland. She was a faithful member of Morningstar United Holy Church where she was honored as a Mother of the Church in 2012. Throughout her ministry in service to our Most Loving God and Morningstar UHC, she serviced the community by developing the Love Kitchen with the help of other saints 11 years ago. She was also instrumental in Community outreach to include servicing Franklin Elementary School, the homeless shelter, Goodwill and other people in the community. Although Mrs. Josephine's main career choice was raising her own 11 children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, children of the neighborhood, nieces and nephews, she worked outside of her home many years ago at Applecreek Hospital and in a management position at Lawsons . Josephine loved people and her passion was helping people in need no matter who they were and what they needed. If it was within her means, she helped everyone she could. Throughout her life she offered her home to many children who needed a place to stay until they were able to get on their feet, not only do her natural children call her mom, but she was also lovingly referred to by many others as Moma Brown, Mrs. Josephine and Mrs. Brown. Josephine will be truly missed by all that loved her and all that she loved. Calling hours will be at Paquelet Funeral Home on Thursday, October 3, 2013 from 5 – 8. Funeral will be held at Morngingstar United Holy Church on Friday, October 4, 2013 at 10:00 a.m.
