Joseph V. Benish Jr., age 68 of Massillon went home to be with the Lord on Sunday December 12, 2010 at his home. Joe was born December 17, 1941 in Massillon to Dorothy and the late Joseph V. Benish, Sr. He attended Washington High School. He retired from the Timken Company in Canton. Joe loved his family and friends and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and boating. Joe was also known as Joe Joe and his favorite saying was ‘Yea Buddy’. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph V. Benish Sr., infant son Joseph V. Benish III, grandmothers Margaret Benish and Fannie McGuire; grandfather Victor Benish. Joe is survived by two daughters: Natasha (Michael) Broome and Sherri (Tim) Douglas; mother Dorothy Benish; three grandchildren, Aaron Broome, Brandan Broome and Christopher Douglas all of Massillon and a sister Janet ‘Susie’ Linek (Florida). There will be a gathering of friends and family at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon Wednesday December 15, 2010 from 5-6 PM with a service at 6 PM. The Rev. Danny Grine will officiate. Cremation will follow the service. The family would like to extend their thanks and appreciation to Innovative Hospice, friends, family and especially Joyce Benish and Ronald Henry for their help, love and care they have given the family during this time.
