Joseph T. Weaver, age 67 of Dalton, passed away Tuesday, April 5, 2011 at Aultman Hospital after a long courageous battle with cancer. He was born February 24, 1944 in Canton to the late Norman & Irene (Gang) Weaver. Joe was a 1962 graduate of Central Catholic High School. He retired in 1998 from the Timken Company as a millwright after 33 years of service. Joe was raised on a farm and continued his passion for farming in Dalton. He had a life long interest in and was an avid collector of John Deere Tractors. Joe and his wife Judy traveled far and wide to attend farm auctions. Known for his productive garden, he would share produce with everyone. He was a member of the Stark County Farm Bureau, VFW #3124, Army-Navy Garrison #207 and the John Deere ‘Two Cylinder Club’. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Joanne (Karcher) Weaver in 1993. Joe is survived by his wife of 25 years, Judith (Wilton) Weaver; five children and their spouses, Kristina Marie Weaver-Soehnlen of Navarre, Joseph & Dorinda Weaver of Beaverton, OR, Michael & Laurie Weaver of Massillon, Tammy Linn & Bob Strait of Green, Lori & Jeff Welty of Doylestown; three step-daughters, Kristine Krueger of Jackson Twp., Pamela & Thomas Simon and Melanie Lewis all of Massillon; sister, Cindy Britzman (Weaver) of Canton and a brother William & Darla Weaver of Navarre. Joe was proud of his many grandchildren, Elijah, Rubi, Gunther, Miciah, Mackenzie, Mandy, Billy, Brittany, Chase, Paityn, Adam, Abigail, Taylor, Lauren, and one great granddaughter, Angel. A Memorial Service will be 11:00 AM Saturday at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon. Friends may call at the funeral home from 9:30 AM until the time of the service.
