On August, 16, 2017, God decided to take Joseph Moffa, his own personal chef to Heaven. Joe was born on July 9, 1931 to Carmen Moffa and Ann Malice. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy for two years. For those of you who had the pleasure of knowing our Dad, then you know that his love of the restaurant business was almost as great as his love for his family. Joe was best known as a chef for the Canal Fulton Dinner Theater and the 1980 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid, New York. He will be deeply missed by his children, JoAnn Moffa Tillett, Joe (Laura Smith Moffa) Moffa and Christina Moffa; Betty Moffa (mother of Joe and Christina); grandchildren Christopher (Kaitlyn), Daniel, Parker, Preston, Michael, Tatyana, Alana, Sasha and Ethan; sister-in-law Jan Logan; nephews Chick Logan, Joe (Jeanette) Logan and Nick (Amy) Logan. He was preceded in death by his mother Ann Logan, father Carmen Moffa, brother Chick Logan and stepfather Earl Logan. It is with heavy hearts, we say goodbye to him, although it does bring comfort knowing that he finally gets to cook with his brother “Chick” and his Mom; as well as play golf with Kitty Moffa (mother of JoAnn). So cheers to Joe. In his honor play some Frank Sinatra “He did it his way!” I’m sure they are on their 3rd bottle of wine by now! We love you Dad! The family will be celebrating Joe’s life on Saturday, August 19, 2017 at 11 a.m. with visitation one hour prior at Paquelet and Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home in Massillon. Burial will follow the service at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation will also be held on Friday, August 18, 2017 from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Joe's name to Bethany Nursing Home,626 34th St. NW, Canton, Ohio 44709
