Joseph John Stefanak III age 77 of Canfield, OH died Friday July 20, 2007 in Deerfield (Summit County) as a result of an automobile accident. Joe was born May 28, 1930 in Canton to the late Joseph & Mary Stefanak. He was raised in Canton and was a 1949 graduate of Central Catholic High School and served two years in the US Coast Guard during the Korean Conflict. He graduated from Akron University with a degree in Industrial Management. Joe was employed by Ford Motor Company for 18 years and had several other industrial positions. Joe was the owner and operator of the Mahoning Road Dairy Queen/Brazier in Canton for 16 years and has owned and operated Josef’s Lounge in Louisville for the past 25 years. He was formerly president of the Canfield Booster Club, Treasurer of Boy Scout Troop #115, a member of Knights of Columbus, Canfield Swim Club, St. Michaels Men’s Club (Canfield), St. Joseph Holy Name Society and a former member of St. Joseph Catholic Church (Massillon). He is survived by his loving wife of 56 very special years, Jacquelyn (Barrett) Stefanak of the residence; three children and their spouses, Jamie (John) DeFrance of Vienna, OH, Rusty Stefanak of Canfield & Indianapolis, and Jim (Kim) Stefanak of Murrells Inlet, SC and Boardman, OH. Two sisters: Sophie (Gerald) Michel of Canton and Mary (Ernie) Chekan of Louisville. Two grandchildren, Jennifer DeFrance of Ravenna and James DeFrance of Vienna and a step-granddaughter, Jennifer Carter of Boardman. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 12:00 P.M. Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Massillon. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday from 6-8 PM at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon. The family would appreciate contributions to the memorial funds at either St. Michaels Church (Canfield) or St. Joseph Church (Massillon).
