Joseph “Joe” M. Friedman, age 62, of Jackson Twp. passed away on March 01, 2021. He was born in Canton on July 29, 1958 to the late John and Jean (Eberhardt) Friedman. He was a 1976 graduate of Central Catholic High School. He married Joyce Fete on August 11, 1990 and they shared 30 years together until his passing. Joe was a 1980 graduate of Purdue University with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, and was a Proud Boilermaker Sports fan for the rest of his life – “Boiler Up!”. Joe was the President of Kaufman Plumbing until retirement. He was lifetime parishioner of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and gave back to the community by serving on the Board of Canton Construction, The Apprenticeship Committee for Local 94 Plumbers and Pipefitters and the Health and Welfare Board. Joe enjoyed golfing and watching sports. He enjoyed having a good time and telling jokes and it was his final wish to vote Republican. Joe will forever be remembered as a devoted and loving husband, father, brother, uncle and friend. He is survived by his wife Joyce; his son Alexander Friedman; his brothers James (Kathy) Friedman, Michael (Jannet) Friedman, Frank (Colette) Friedman; his sister Mary Lou (Pete) Strifler; as well as a host of nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his faithful canine companions Gandolph, Strider, and Legolis; and his bird Pipen . A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00am on Tuesday, March 09, 2021 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Massillon. Father Edward Gretchko officiating. The family will receive friends at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon on Monday, March 08, 2021 from 5 to 8p.m. In lieu of flowers donations in Joe’s memory can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital – 501 Saint Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. or the Stark or Summit County Humane Society.
