Joseph “Joe” E. Ehret, age 90, passed away on March 01, 2022. He was born on May 29, 1931 to the late Glendale and Harriet (Mizer) Ehret in Massillon. He was a 1949 graduate of Massillon Washington High School and a graduate of Mount Union College and received his Master’s Degree from Kent State. He married Carolyn Zepp on November 21, 1954. Joe served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. After military service, he had a career in education. Joe worked as a teacher and retired as a Principal. He enjoyed fishing, golfing and playing cards with his family. He served his community and was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, serving on the church council; a board member of the YMCA and was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles – Aerie #190. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Carolyn; his son Randy (Candi) Ehret; his son-in-law Bruce Warstler; his grandchildren Elizabeth (Jason) Miller, Joe (Amber) Warstler, Jessica (Carl) Pakish, Steven (Michelle) Ehret, Trish (Tony) Knode and David (Jessica) Williams; his great-grandchildren Isaac, Madelyn, Jaxson, Hayden, Morgan, Elise, Blake, Roxy, Olen, Michael, Maggie and Derek. In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his daughter Constance Warstler and his sister Pat Patt. A Celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, March 05, 2022 at 10a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church – 127 Cherry Road NE, Massillon, OH. The family will receive friends at the Paquelet Funeral Home on Friday, March 04, 2022 from 6-8p.m. and 1 hour prior to the service at St. Paul’s. Burial will take place at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. Continuing with COVID-19 precautions, all attending will be asked to follow proper social distancing protocol and masks are required.
