Joseph Henry Browning

Joseph Henry Browning, 79 of Navarre, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, February 26, 2018. Joe was born on October 25, 1938 in Nebo, NC, the son of the late Horace C. and Myrtle (Arrowood) Browning. He was a 1956 graduate of Washington High School and served in the United States Marine Corp Reserves. He was a manager for Isaly’s Dairy Company and a chef and truck driver in his later years. Joe was an avid reader, awesome cook and loved spending time outdoors in his yard and helping his neighbors. He loved his music especially Elvis Gospel songs and Hillsong. Most of all he cherished spending time with his family. Joe’s personal trust in Jesus Christ assures their future reunion. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his siblings, Lyle, Harold, Gene, John, Betty, Clyde, William, Bernice and Robert. He is survived by his children and their spouses, Nancy (Karl) Schmidt, Michael Browning, and David (Patty) Browning; grandchildren, Ryan (Jessica) Schmidt, Stacey (Daniel) Hyde, Luke (Paige) Schmidt, and Sarah Browning; great grandchildren, Caitlyn, Emily, Zane, Joseph and Ezekiel; brother, H. C. Browning, Jr.; and special friend Phyllis Clark. A Celebration of Joe’s life will be held on Friday, March 2, 2018 at 11 a.m. at the Canton Baptist Temple. Interment will follow at North Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Paquelet Funeral Home on Thursday from 6-8 p.m. and on Friday from 10-11 a.m. at the church.
