Joseph G. Kobolak, age 88 of Massillon, passed away Monday at Affinity Medical Center. He was born April 23, 1922 in Massillon to the late Joseph & Mary (Oslauski) Kobolak and was a 1939 graduate of Washington High School. He served two years in the Army during World War II as a sergeant in the Pacific Theater. Joe retired in 1980 as a mechanical engineer from SKF Industries. He is a member of American Legion Post #221, VFW and Dav. Joe was greatly admired and loved by many and will be remembered for his kindness and devotion to family and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Glenda (Hunsinger) Kobalak (2004); two sisters, Mary Ann Miller, Grace Carey; brother-in-law, Vernon Hunsinger and a niece, Karen Hunsinger. He is survived by four nieces and one nephew, Lois Gaytko, Linda Smith, Barb Bowers, David Hunsinger and Trudi Joseph; special niece and nephew Mary Kathryn & Bill Butler and a friend from high school, Kay Rugg. Friends may call from Friday Noon until 1 PM at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon. A Committal Service for the family will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.
