Joseph E. White

January 25, 1927 — February 13, 2011

Joseph E. White ( Whitey ) our devoted Father, Grandpa, brother and friend left this earth peacefully to be re-united with his beloved wife Twila and live forever with Jesus Christ his Savior on February 13, 2011. Joe was born January 25, 1927 in Lake Hope, Ohio to the late Howard and Beulah White. He graduated from Washington High School then enlisted in the US Navy proudly serving his country during WWll. Thru life long friends Rita and Everett Himes, Joe met and married the woman of his dreams. Together they owned and operated Whitey's Sunoco Station on the corner of Traphagen and Wales Rd. serving the community for 30 years. Joe was a Jackson Twp. volunteer fireman and upon retirement drove school bus for Jackson Local as well. He was a member of the Canton Baptist Temple for 55 years serving as bus driver and visitation of the sick. In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Beulah White, brothers Maynard and Howard Jr. and 2 infant sisters. Joe was known best for his gift of giving. He was one of those special people who saw a need and acted upon it. His love, smile and generosity will fill our hearts and lives forever. We stand changed because of his presence in our lives. Dad, my protector and my friend. Joe will be forever missed by his family; Kathleen (daughter) and Jerry Schen of Jackson Twp. and Larry (son) and Kim White of Conway, SC; four grandchildren, Joshua (Amber) Schen, Jordan Schen, Jacob White and Jared White, one great-grandson Nathan Schen. There is one surviving brother Dwight (Shirley) White of New Mexico/Alaska. Family and friends are invited to join with the family on Friday, February 18, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at the Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home, 1100 Wales Road NE, in Massillon in honor of Joe's Home Going. The Rev. Delaney Young and his daughter Chaplain Kathleen Schen will officiate. Burial will be at Sunset Hill Burial Park. Friends may call on Thursday from 5-8 P.M. from 10:00 A.M. until the service on Friday at the funeral home. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Herm McClurg, Carol, Marty and Amy for your special gifts of love, compassion and presence. To Jerry and Jordan Schen, I can never thank you enough for the sacrifice you gave in helping me to care for DAD within the comforts of our home.
